St Mary was a woman who lead a life of harlotry from a very young age until an encounter with God. She went to the desert to repent and spent the rest of her days with God, never to return to civilization.
Hebrews 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
I hide myself in God when life is too much and I'm too weak. Even though God does all the work, I struggle with the first steps of stumbling to Him.
Psalms 142: 5 I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
